Welcome to The Wine Shack in beautiful Cannon Beach, Oregon.
The Wine Shack is a “must-visit” spot when in Cannon Beach. With the best wine selection anywhere on the Oregon coast, The Wine Shack has a wide variety of exceptional wines from Oregon, Washington, California and around the world. We have over 60 Oregon Pinot Noirs – one of the best selections in the state. We also offer collectible wines, wines from small Oregon wineries and our very own, award-winning Puffin Wines.
Recently, The Wine Shack was voted “Best Wine Shop” by Coast Weekend’s Readers Choice Awards. In Spring 2014, noted wine writer “Wine Julia” named The Wine Shack “the best wine shop on the Oregon Coast”. Additionally, The Wine Shack was named one of the Top Wine Stores in America by GQ Magazine.
The Wine Shack is home to Puffin Wines. Made by local Oregon winemakers in collaboration with Steven Sinkler, Puffin Wines have won Platinum, Double Gold and Gold medals in the largest wine competitions in the Pacific Northwest, going head to head with some of the finest and most well known local wineries. The current lineup consists of Puffin Pinot Gris, Puffin Chardonnay, Puffin Rose’, Puffin Pinot Noir and Puffin Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tastings & Special Events
The Wine Shack’s Tasting Room, located upstairs, is the site of our weekly wine tastings. During the summer months (July & August), The Wine Shack offers wine tastings on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, from 1-5 pm. Throughout the rest of the year, we taste every Saturday, 1-5 pm, and other days depending on festivals, weather, crowds, etc.
A typical wine tasting panel consists of 4 wines, usually two whites and two reds. We try to change the wines and regional emphasis to keep the tastings fresh. We also vary the wines by season. You may find us pouring a Cabernet Sauvignon or a Port during winter, or a Rose’ during summer, but one thing is certain….we are ALWAYS pouring an Oregon Pinot Noir.
On selected Saturdays during the year, The Wine Shack holds special “Winemaker Events.” These events are lot of fun and give you the chance to meet the winemaker and taste his/her wines. During the past year, The Wine Shack hosted some of the finest wineries in the Pacific Northwest, including: Abacela, Angel Vine, Capitello, Cristom, Elk Cove Vineyards, J Scott Cellars, Ken Wright Cellars, Pudding River Wine Cellars, Reustle Prayer Rock, Seven of Hearts, Sineann, Sleight of Hand, Walnut City Wineworks and Zerba Cellars.
OUR OWN PUFFIN WINES
Founded in 2007, Puffin Wines can be found at The Wine Shack and a few, select wine shops along the Oregon Coast. Because of their exceptional value, our Puffin Wines are the best-selling wines in The Wine Shack.
We are proud to donate a portion of the proceeds from each bottle of Puffin Wine to a local non-profit, The Friends of Haystack Rock. The Friends of Haystack Rock is a group of volunteers who donate their time to educate visitors to the wonders of Haystack Rock.
PROVISIONS 124
Looking to have a beach picnic? If so, Provisions 124 is the shop for you. Provisions 124 is an upscale, yet funky, beach market offering the Pacific Northwest’s finest gourmet products.
Provisions 124 carries a wide range of artisan food products, such as cheeses from small creameries like Mt. Townsend, Rogue Creamery or Jacobs Creamery. Or, you can build your own charcuterie platter with salame’ from Olympia Provisions or Chop Butchery. You will also find a cold drinks from Stumptown Coffee, Brew Doctor Kombucha and Atlas Ciders.
Provisions 124 has also created it’s own brands of delicious Oregon based products such as Marionberry Preserves, Pinot Noir Pepper Jelly, Marionberry BBQ Glaze and Smoked Salmon.
Because we love to keep it local, we’ve teamed up with Sleepy Monk Coffee Roasters to create our very own Puffin “Moondance” Coffee. This rich and smooth medium-dark blend is made from organic beans roasted in small batches. Puffin “Moondance” Coffee comes either ground or in whole bean.
A CANNON BEACH TRADITION
Cannon Beach is loved by its residents and tourists. With events from book signings and wine tastings to live music and art exhibits, Cannon Beach’s downtown is quaint, friendly, and unique.
Unique beach architecture, public art, meandering pathways and courtyards filled with flowers add to the artistic beach town experience.
The Wine Shack is a Cannon Beach tradition, located downtown for almost forty years and going strong.
